the thought did cross my mind, you can take a ferry from newcastle to bergen at very good prices in october with dfds.
but as i have just started a new job and i am trying to convince my boss that i am hardworking and conscientious ;);) i will have to stay at home.

it didn't help when i spent tuesday afternoon listening to a transistor radio for the UEFA Cup draw :D:D
